CAMBRIDGE, KING'S COLLEGE

One of the 31 constituent Colleges that make up the University of Cambridge, King's College was founded by King Henry VI in 1441 and has continuously striven to uphold Henry’s love for ‘education, religion, learning and research’. A visit to King's College Chapel is a truly inspirational experience. It is the largest and most spectacular of the college chapels in Cambridge.

The Chapel is the grandest and most beautiful building in Cambridge and ranks amongst the most important examples of perpendicular (late gothic) architecture. Stone, wood and glass combine with music to provide an unforgettable experience under Rubens' Adoration of the Magi. The famous service of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols has been broadcast on the radio since 1928.

CLARE BRIDGE, CAMBRIDGE

Clare college in Cambridge has a much-photographed bridge over the river which has fourteen stone balls decorating it. One of the balls has a missing section. A number of apocryphal stories circulate concerning this - the one most commonly cited by members of college is that the original builder of the bridge was not paid the full amount for his work and so removed the segment to balance the difference in payment. This bridge is the oldest of Cambridge's current bridges. You should go there and rent a small boat and don't forget to bring your picnic....

CAMBRIDGE, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

This picture was taken in Bridge street in Cambridge. It is the round Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
This exciting building, created in the 12th century, is one of the only four round churches in England and is a favourite among Cambridge residents. If you visit Cambridge don't miss it...
The chancel, north chapel, and south aisle were all added in the 15th century and the conical roof was added in the 19th century.

CAMBRIDGE, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

The City of Cambridge is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Britain. Situated in the quiet east of England, amid the rural countryside of Cambridgeshire. On this photo you can see the wonderful setting of a common by the river Cam. A very special place for a quick nap. You can also read a good book or listen to some music...and after that you can go Punting!!!
